CONTEMPORARY

From the 2001 Symphony Designer Show House -

Asian elements in this formal dining room suggest a simplicity and elegance that enhance the incredible view of the Hill Country.

Reflecting the Central Texas sky, the gleaming mahogany table with reeding on the skirt is the perfect counterbalance for the overhead light of copper-rubbed iron, hanging from a domed inset with a metallic copper finish.

To frame the view with an architectural detail rather than traditional fabric, Barbara chose wood panels with copper inserts.

The Roman shades of striped silk bring in colors throughout the room and the table in particular. The carved English Windsor chairs reflect the Asian influence of that period.

The painted terra cotta walls provide a warm contrast to the copper-faced door (not shown).
